Protection Services
If you witness an emergency or need help while on campus, notify Protection Services using one of the methods below to get the response or assistance required for the situation.
Regular Phone

Save this number on your cell! You can also press the Emergency button on your office phone or dial extension 5411. If the Emergency line is busy, dial Protection’s Information line: 613-562-5499 or, from a uOttawa phone, extension 5499.
Emergency phones
More than 80 emergency phones are located on the University of Ottawa’s campuses. Get to know their locations in case you ever need to use them. Press the button to establish contact. Speak clearly and stay near the phone.
Public pay phones
You can use all Bell public pay phones on the University of Ottawa campus free of charge to reach Protection Services.
In person
Approach an on-duty member of Protection Services or go to one of these locations:
Main campus: 141 Louis-Pasteur – Office open 24/7
Roger-Guindon campus: Room 2013 – Office open 24/7
200 Lees: Room C112A – Office open between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.

For emergencies in facilities outside of Protection Services’ jurisdiction, such as 1 Nicholas and 600-850 Peter Moran, you need to call 911. After, if it’s safe to do so, contact Protection Services as well at 613-562-5411.
